The realization of new accelerators needed for studying particle physics relies crucially on a strong and steady RTD program, the magnitude and diversity of which surpasses the intellectual, technical and financial resources of a single laboratory or institution and requires a large international effort.

Accordingly, the directors of CCLRC, CERN, DAPNIA/CEA, DESY, LNF, Orsay/IN2P3, and PSI in consultation with ECFA have decided in 2002 to form a European Steering Group on Accelerator R&D (ESGARD).

This is the website of the European Steering Group on Accelerator R&D. It is intended as a general presentation of the activities for the community at large.

Also contained are a set of protected work pages for the exchange of information among the members of the steering group.
